When I move, there’s always an element of seduction in how I control my body, whether I’m gliding through slow, deliberate motions or executing sharp, precise accents. My aim is to evoke a sense of intimacy and connection, not just with my audience, but with myself.

Every movement I make has a purpose. I savor each moment, making sure that every gesture, every shift of my body, serves a specific intention. To ensure that my movement remains authentic and true to me, I believe in flowing freely, in allowing my body to lead the way and move in whatever way feels right in the moment

As someone who has difficulty expressing how I feel, I have found movement to be the perfect way to get those big emotions out. It’s become a way to not only destress, but to remind myself to enjoy the fun and happy moments too. So whenever I dance, my true and raw emotions come out whether they may be silly, sensual or sad.

As for slinky and bendy, I have found a new love for simple movements like body rolls/waves and I have definitely broken a rib in the past which has been a blessing in disguise as I now have an extremely bendy back.

For a long time I felt I wasn't able to convey all I felt inside through my words. It was as if the second I tried to speak, the mind of overthinking came into play (in true Virgo fashion) and my messages would be warped into a sea of words that didn't fully align to the vastness of emotions I've always felt in my heart and soul. Through contortion I feel I am able to express ALL of me, my mind and words can no longer limit what is expressed through my contortion practice. It feels like I'm finally able to be seen, all of me, for me.

My movement style is intentional and musical, aimed at creating an authentic movement language. Influenced by ballet, contemporary, and pop and lock, I fuse these dance forms in my free form practice to develop a graceful, rhythmic, and ever-evolving movement identity.

I like to sit in the pocket of contemporary dance, expansive and grounded movement with hints of things I have picked up from learning other styles of dance.

“When Asia takes the stage, you can't help but swoon. Their strength is cocooned in layers of soft movement, detail, and musicality. A grounded element of their movement reminds you to breathe, to sit back, relax, and let them take you on a ride.” - @starkestruck (Taylor Stark)

As an athlete in college, I spent years competing in sports where you repeat the same movement thousands of times within one sitting. There is a ritual you fall into when refining your movements while running or rowing that has served me well in pole dance. I have a deep reverence for the repeated and consistent effort that brings about movement that truly embodies what I am trying to express.

I think my collegiate movement background and strength & conditioning expertise lends to a power in my dancing that I have gotten the opportunity to lean into. My ultimate goal while dancing is to evoke a certain aspect of elegance to any move I do whether it's a simple pole walk or a complicated spin sequence. My aim is allow the emotion to shine through in it's purest form.

Fluidity is so important to me! I find that I'm only able to achieve a "flow state" when I'm fully present and being intentional about every aspect of my movement. I'm always thinking about how can I make this incredibly difficult, strenous, and painful thing feel good. And fluidity and tapping into my sensuality is what makes something feel good to me. Elegant is actually a word I've heard from others to describe my movement style, and I found it interesting because I had never thought of my dancing in that way.
