Feel the Float (Int - Adv) at 12:30 pm
Do you long to captivate an audience with your soft power? Are you ready to level up your pole flows with mesmerizing aerial shapes? Feel the Float, is a sensual static pole workshop designed for those eager to execute the most ethereal shapes.
Imagine settling into a remy sit shape, becoming aware of the sensations coursing through your body—the cold chrome pushing against your foot, the discomfort transforming into focus. Guided by the supportive energy of your peers, you’ll learn to embrace each moment, breathing steadily as you affirm, “I am here. I am okay.”
You will first be guided through a comprehensive warm-up that focuses on stability and mobility. You will then learn 4-5 shapes of varying contact points while focusing your attention on 1. Security and 2. Expression, sensing and feeling your way through each step.
Feel the Float gives you the gift of time.
● Time to drop into your body
● Time to shift from tension to tranquility
● Time to explore your body’s expression
What do I need to be successful in this workshop?
● Prerequisites: Dancers should be comfortable with upright shapes requiring 2-4 points of contact, such as star gazer, remy sit, strong hold, elbow grip, and active leg extensions. Modifications will be provided as needed.
● Attire: Wear polewear that allows for hand, knee, elbow, and side body contact points.
Self Control (Int - Adv) at 2:15 pm
Do you long for greater mastery over your movements and your life? Are you ready to reframe your mind to align your movement with intention? Welcome to “Self Control,” a sensual spin pole workshop designed for those eager to create mesmerizing and controlled shapes and transitions on spin.
In this sacred space, you’ll shift from the sympathetic to the parasympathetic nervous system as you count, “1, 2, 3…” Each revolution around the pole transforms into a meditative experience.
Steady breath and focused awareness allow you to drop into each shape. This workshop invites you to embrace the uncomfortable sensations and emotions that arise as you navigate challenging shapes. Guided by stimulating beats, we’ll begin with a thorough warm-up that stabilizes and mobilizes the body, setting the stage for your explorations. You’ll then delve into a sequence of 5-6 shapes and transitions, followed by dedicated time for creative exploration. Your initial effort may feel choppy at first but with practice and awareness, you will become as fluid as the sensations and feelings that flow through you.
What do I need to be successful in this workshop?
- Prerequisites: Dancers should be comfortable with climbing and inverting. Modifications
will be provided as needed.
- Attire: Wear polewear that allows for hand, knee, elbow, and side body contact points.
